Early ES-345s are such cool guitars because they sit right in that sweet spot between the rawer ES-335 and the more dressed-up ES-355. This one has all the ingredients people want to see on a proper early example — Cherry finish, stereo wiring, Varitone, and most importantly the original PAFs. Even in player-grade form, that is a seriously desirable combination. I actually think guitars like this can be more appealing to the right buyer, because a well-done repair and refin often make something this old feel a little less precious and a bit more useable in the real world. The 345 has a slightly classier look than a 335, but still keeps that woody, airy semi-hollow character that makes these early Gibsons so addictive.
Condition Report
Very good player-grade condition for age. This is a 1961 example with a refin, headstock repair, and re-stamped serial, as well as an unoriginal hardcase. The work appears to have been carried out to a very high standard, including the neck break repair. There is visible cosmetic wear and ageing throughout, exactly as you would expect from a well-used vintage instrument of this era.
