Personal Thoughts:
This is not just a guitar — it’s a genuine piece of electric guitar history, beautifully reimagined. Built by Moridaira, the original factory responsible for the legendary 1970s Mad Cats, this limited reissue was produced to commemorate Moridaira’s 45th anniversary and captures the spirit of the original perfectly.

The Mad Cat is forever tied to Prince, who famously used one throughout his career, including on Purple Rain and countless iconic performances. The originals were extremely scarce — around 500 units in the early ’70s — making any authentic Mad Cat deeply collectible. This modern reissue is done with immense care and respect, and collectors know just how rarely these appear on the market, especially in this condition.

Tonally, it delivers exactly what you want: thick, resonant Tele-style punch with clarity, bite, and authority. The Bill Lawrence pickups are outstanding — articulate, powerful, and balanced, with plenty of snap on the bridge and warmth in the neck. It’s a guitar that absolutely holds its own as a player, not just a collectible.

Visually, the leopard-print binding exclusive to this anniversary run sets it apart immediately. Combined with the flame maple, walnut stripe, and amber finish, it’s unmistakable and unapologetically bold — just as the Mad Cat should be.
