The early PGM models are some of the coolest and most distinctive Japanese Ibanez signatures, and the PGM200 is a brilliant example of that. It has all the things that make the Paul Gilbert models so appealing — the stripped-back fixed-bridge setup, the triple PAF Pro layout, the fast Wizard neck and of course the unmistakable painted f-holes. That combination gives the guitar a really strong identity, but it is also just a very clever spec. The fixed bridge makes it feel a bit more direct and solid than the trem-equipped RGs of the same era, while the three PAF Pros give it loads of tonal flexibility without losing that late-'80s / early-'90s Ibanez voice. Fountain Blue is a great finish on this model too, and one of the cooler colours from the early run. A very cool MIJ signature guitar and one that has become increasingly collectible.
Condition Report:
Very good condition. There are two small neck lacquer cracks, impressions around the binding edge, paint chips to the back and a few scuffs present from use. Overall it remains a very honest and tidy example for the age.
