This is a seriously classy Dakota Standard and a great example of why Ivison has built such a strong reputation among players who love vintage-inspired guitars. The Aged Factory Black finish gives it loads of character straight away, while the mahogany body, old-growth mahogany neck and Indian rosewood fingerboard create a very traditional and carefully judged foundation.

The pair of Ivison Freebird pickups should give it that open, woody and slightly raw P-90 character that suits this style of guitar perfectly. With Alnico II magnets and relatively moderate outputs, the emphasis should be on dynamics, clarity and touch sensitivity rather than sheer power. The Faber compensated wraparound bridge keeps the design simple and resonant, while the Jescar fretwork, 12" radius and 24.625" scale give it a smooth and familiar playing feel. A beautifully made UK boutique instrument with plenty of vintage personality and a very usable specification.

Excellent condition. The finish has been intentionally aged at the factory, so the checking, marks, fading and apparent wear form part of the original specification and should not be mistaken for subsequent damage. Presents very cleanly overall beyond the factory aging and is supplied with its Hiscox hardshell case, QC checklist and pickup specification tag.
