  • Personal Thoughts:

This is a really lovely Martin and one of the more desirable modern OM specs they produced. The OM-28 Marquis sits in a great place because it takes the classic 28-style recipe and pushes it in a more vintage-inspired direction with the Adirondack top, Golden Era-style scalloped bracing, modified V neck and long saddle bridge. That gives it a bit more of that pre-war flavour than a standard modern OM-28. I also think the wood combination is exactly what you want on a guitar like this. Adirondack over East Indian rosewood should give it loads of headroom, clarity and richness, while the ebony board and bridge keep the response crisp and articulate. The OM body size is a huge part of the appeal too, as it tends to offer that lovely balance between comfort, projection and tonal detail. A very classy Martin and a strong choice for someone wanting a high-end, vintage-leaning orchestra model.
