This is an absolutely outrageous Regius and a perfect example of what Mayones can produce when the specification is pushed right to the top of the range. The Master Grade burl maple and resin top is the obvious centrepiece, with highly figured natural timber broken up by vivid purple resin running through the voids and figuring. It gives the top an almost geological appearance, and because the resin follows the natural structure of the burl, this is effectively a one-off visual pattern rather than something that can simply be repeated on another guitar.

The amount of detail surrounding the top is equally impressive. Purple pearloid binding runs around the body, fingerboard and headstock, while the pickup caps and control knobs have been matched back into the top itself. Even the Schaller Hannes bridge and Hipshot tuners incorporate wooden elements, so the entire guitar feels like one coordinated Custom Shop build rather than a collection of premium options.

Underneath the artwork is a seriously capable Regius. The 11-ply maple, mahogany, wenge and amazakoe neck-through construction, ebony fingerboard, 16" radius and stainless-steel frets provide the fast, precise feel Mayones is known for. The Velvetrone Solium and Ironside humbuckers are paired with a clever five-way switching arrangement that accesses full humbucker tones as well as inner and outer coil combinations, giving it considerably more versatility than a conventional HH setup. A genuinely spectacular Master Grade Mayones with exceptional craftsmanship, unusual materials and huge collector appeal.

Mint / as new condition. Overseas import example with no noteworthy marks, fret wear or signs of use to mention. The irregular purple resin sections, natural voids and contrasting burl figuring are intentional elements of the Master Grade resin top and form part of the guitar’s unique design.
