Panucci guitars have developed a serious following, and this ’59 Inspired makes it easy to understand why. Built in extremely small numbers, these guitars combine old-school Les Paul character with the precision and consistency of a high-end boutique instrument. The Faded Burst finish and aged treatment are beautifully judged, while the heavily figured “Super Top” gives this example plenty of movement without losing the authentic late-’50s appearance.

The Honduran mahogany construction, Indian rosewood fingerboard and medium ’59-style neck carve create a familiar and substantial feel. Panucci’s own ’59 humbuckers are a major part of the appeal, with a woody, three-dimensional response and a slightly stronger upper-mid presence than many traditional PAF-style sets. They remain clear and expressive when clean but develop plenty of bite, harmonic complexity and vocal character when driven.

The Jescar EVO fretwork allows for exceptionally smooth playability, giving the guitar a refined modern feel without taking away from its vintage-inspired personality. With fewer than around 30 Panucci guitars reportedly built each year, opportunities to find one of these rarely come along. A beautifully made boutique singlecut with genuine rarity, strong visual character and a superb vintage-style specification.
