This is a particularly attractive Macon Singlecut, with the Tea Burst finish showing off a superb figured maple top. The figuring has plenty of movement without becoming overly flashy, while the darker outer burst, mahogany back and rosewood board give it a really convincing vintage-inspired appearance.

The factory Maker’s Notes confirm a traditional maple/mahogany body construction, mahogany neck and rosewood fingerboard, paired with a substantial Fat C profile, 24.625" scale and 12" radius. The Jescar #55090 medium-tall frets give it a slightly more contemporary playing feel while retaining the character of a vintage-style single-cut.

Originally supplied with Mojo humbuckers, this example is now fitted with a set of Monty’s pickups, giving it a high-quality vintage-inspired voice with plenty of clarity, openness and dynamic response. The original pickups are unfortunately not included. Kluson locking tuners have also been installed, although the original Kluson tuners are supplied with the guitar.

The naturally developed checking in the nitro finish suits the guitar beautifully and adds genuine character, particularly alongside the minor marks and impressions acquired through use. A great-playing British-built single-cut with a strong specification and some very sensible player-focused upgrades.

Very good condition. There are some minor impressions and small dings across the guitar, together with natural checking to the nitrocellulose finish. These are cosmetic and give the guitar a nicely played-in appearance rather than detracting from it.

Monty’s pickups are currently installed and the original Mojo pickups are not included. Kluson locking tuners have also been fitted, with the original Kluson tuners included. Supplied with its Patrick James Eggle certificate and associated documentation.
