This is a genuinely important early PRS and a superb collector’s example of the McCarty model. Introduced in 1994, the McCarty represented PRS leaning more heavily into traditional vintage-inspired construction and feel, and this particular guitar comes from the very first year of production with the exceptionally early number #33.
The early PRS hardware and electronics are a big part of the appeal here too. Original McCarty humbuckers, the simple three-way layout with push/pull coil split and Phase I locking tuners give it that unmistakable mid-’90s PRS character. These early guitars have a noticeably different feel and historical significance compared with later examples, particularly when they remain this clean.
With its first-year status, low production number, this is the sort of McCarty that sits firmly in collector territory while still being a very usable vintage PRS.
Condition Report
Excellent collector’s condition. Presents exceptionally well for a 1994 instrument, with only very light signs of careful use consistent with age. A particularly clean and well-preserved first-year example with no significant wear or damage to mention.
