  • Personal Thoughts

Brazilian-rosewood PRS limiteds are always a talking point, and this Custom 22 is a lovely example. The Blue Matteo quilted top has a rich, watery depth, and the soft matte finish makes the figure look almost three-dimensional. Against the natural mahogany back, gold hardware and amber knobs, it is a very handsome combination.

The numbered cavity cover (287/500), the hang tag and the spec sheet in the case all add to the sense of a properly documented limited run. The Brazilian rosewood board, with its abalone birds, feels dark and silky under the hand, and the 22-fret Custom layout is as playable as ever.

Two humbuckers and a three-way toggle keep things beautifully simple, covering warm, articulate rhythm tones through to singing, sustaining leads. It is the sort of PRS that rewards being played hard, and it will appeal to both players and collectors.

  • Condition Report

Very Good. There are a few very minor light surface scratches that are noticeable in the right light, plus a few impressions and light nicks around the side bout. The neck is very clean with no discernible marks — played, but looked after. Please study the photos closely, as they form part of the description, and feel free to ask for any additional images or a video.
