This is a particularly desirable early-2000s PRS and one of the more collectible Custom 22 variants from the period. Produced as part of a limited run of just 500 Brazilian-specification guitars, this example is individually numbered #166 and also carries the highly desirable 10-Top designation.
The Amber finish is a great match for the figured maple top, keeping the look traditional and allowing the figuring to remain the focal point. The Brazilian rosewood fingerboard is the key specification here, adding both rarity and collector appeal while giving the guitar a distinctly premium feel compared with a regular production Custom 22.
The Custom 22 platform itself sits in a really sweet spot within the PRS range, with the slightly warmer feel of a 22-fret layout while retaining the articulation and precision PRS is known for. Combined with the limited-edition status, 10-Top and Brazilian rosewood specification, this is a very strong collector-grade PRS from an increasingly sought-after era.
Condition Report
Excellent condition. Presents very cleanly overall for a 2003 instrument, with only light signs of careful use consistent with age. No significant wear or damage to mention.
