This is an exceptional Private Stock Custom 24/08 and a genuinely serious example from one of PRS’s most desirable eras. The Sage Dragon’s Breath finish is beautifully judged across the quilted maple top, with the darker outer shading framing the centre grain and giving the guitar enormous depth. The green select abalone birds and matching Private Stock eagle tie the entire colour palette together brilliantly, while the gold hardware adds just enough contrast.

The timber specification is the real headline. A solid Brazilian rosewood neck and fingerboard, Brazilian rosewood headstock veneer, quilted maple top and swamp ash back place this firmly in true Private Stock territory. The Pattern Thin carve keeps it fast and familiar, while the 58/15 MT pickups and individual coil-tap switches give the 24/08 platform a broad and genuinely useful tonal range. It can move from full, articulate humbucker sounds into clearer split-coil textures without losing the refinement expected from a top-level PRS.
