The McCarty 594 is one of PRS’s best all-round core models in my opinion, as it gets very close to that old-school singlecut feel while still keeping the refinement and consistency PRS are known for. The spec is a big part of that. The 24.594" scale, Pattern Vintage neck shape and two-piece bridge all give it a more traditional, broken-in feel, while the 58/15 LT pickups keep things clear, warm and articulate without sounding overly modern. I also think the control layout is a big strength on these, as the dual volume and push/pull tone controls make them much more versatile than people sometimes expect. Charcoal Cherry Burst always works well on a 594 too, giving it a classy figured top look without being too flashy. A very smart USA PRS and an excellent choice for someone wanting a refined vintage-leaning humbucker guitar. The core McCarty 594 platform specs, including the scale length, Pattern Vintage neck, two-piece bridge, Phase III tuners, and 58/15 LT pickups, are consistent with PRS’s official model information.
