Personal Thoughts:
Sprayer’s Choice finishes are where PRS let their finish team off the leash, and this McCarty 594 in Blue Sea Fade is a stunning example. The fade is beautifully executed — deep blues melting into lighter ocean tones — giving the guitar real movement and depth without overpowering the classic McCarty aesthetic.
Under the finish, this is still very much the benchmark McCarty 594: a slightly shorter scale length that gives a relaxed, elastic feel, paired with the Pattern Vintage neck that fills the hand in a reassuring, old-school way. The 58/15 LT pickups are perfectly voiced here, delivering warm, woody lows, an open midrange, and a sweet, articulate top end.
It’s the perfect blend of visual individuality and traditional tone — a guitar that feels special the moment you pick it up, without sacrificing what makes the 594 such a trusted player’s instrument.
