Personal Thoughts:
The early-2000s McRosie models are among the most coveted PRS builds from the era — not just because they’re limited, but because the solid rosewood neck gives them a tone and feel unlike almost anything PRS makes today. Warm, glassy, articulate and endlessly smooth under the fingers, these necks have a natural compression and sustain that players absolutely adore.
The Tortoise Shell finish pairs beautifully with the darker woods. It’s a classic, understated look that has aged gracefully over the last 24 years. Tonally, the McCarty pickups deliver a vintage-leaning voice: sweet highs, woody mids, and a wide dynamic response that feels incredibly musical whether clean or overdriven.
This one has clearly been looked after — the neck and the back of the body are clean, and it presents extremely well. Early PRS guitars with rosewood necks are only getting harder to find, especially in original condition.
Condition Report:
Very good overall. Some small areas of lacquer bubbling/spots on the body and very light handling wear, but neck and back of body are unmarked. Frets and hardware clean. Case and paperwork included.
