Personal Thoughts:
Modern Eagle V Wood Library builds are already rare, but this spec takes it into true boutique-collector territory. The hand-selected quilted maple top, matched with a full painted flamed maple neck, gives the guitar that high-end Private Stock vibe without the Private Stock price tag.
The swamp ash back keeps things snappy and articulate, and pairing it with an ebony board and shadow abalone birds makes everything feel sleek, modern and luxurious. Electrically, the MEV is one of PRS’s most advanced designs — offering humbucker punch, single-coil clarity, and Narrowfield precision all in one instrument. It’s probably the single most versatile PRS they’ve ever produced.
Tonally, it covers everything from thick LP-style sustain to scooped Strat-like cleans to tight, focused modern gain. It’s the definition of a “do-everything” PRS, with boutique tonewoods elevating it even further.
