This is a really lovely Wood Library DGT and a spec that feels a step above the standard core model in all the right places. The big draw here is the wood combination. A flame maple 10-top over swamp ash gives the guitar a slightly different character to the usual mahogany-backed DGT, with a bit more snap and openness, while the stained maple neck and cocobolo board make it feel much more exotic and visually interesting. The flamed headstock veneer is a great touch as well, especially as it brings in that more Private Stock-style flavour and helps the whole guitar feel even more high end. That is really the appeal here overall — it has the familiarity and usability of a DGT, but with wood choices and detailing that push it into a much more special bracket. The DGT is already one of PRS’s best player’s guitars thanks to the Grissom carve, superb control layout and very balanced pickup set, so when you add in Private Stock-grade woods and a Wood Library spec like this, it becomes something genuinely standout. Aquamarine Stain is a great finish on a guitar like this too, and with these woods it should look especially striking in person.
