Early PRS Singlecuts have become extremely collectible — and the Artist Package versions from 1999–2001 are some of the nicest guitars the company ever produced. The carve on these tops is deeper, the flame is richer, and the Rosewood boards from this era have a warmth and figure that PRS simply doesn’t source in the same way today. The Whale Blue finish here is classic old-school PRS: deep, vibrant and 3D without feeling overly modern. Sonically, the #7 pickups have a slightly vintage-leaning midrange with a smooth top end, making this one of the most versatile early PRS humbucker sets. Combine that with the mahogany/maple recipe and the solid feel of the Singlecut, and you’ve got a guitar that punches way above its age.
This one being near mint is a big deal — most early Singlecuts have been gigged hard. It feels like a time capsule from the era when PRS was starting to refine the formula that would eventually become their modern high-end identity.
