This is exactly the kind of Wood Library build that PRS collectors chase — a swamp ash body for added clarity and snap, topped with one of the brand’s best figured maples, paired with that ultra-rare solid rosewood neck and ziricote board. It’s the perfect fusion of musical warmth and boutique-level luxury.
Tonally, the Special 22 Semi-Hollow is one of PRS’s most versatile circuits ever created. Between the 58/15 LTs, the Narrowfield middle pickup, the coil-split mini-toggles and the 5-way blade, this thing moves from ES-style airiness to thick humbucker punch to articulate single-coil chime effortlessly. Add the semi-hollow construction and you get that lovely bloom and sustain PRS are famous for.
The Grey Black Fade suits the exotic woods beautifully — understated, sleek, and classy without shouting for attention. A serious “lifer” guitar.
