This is a seriously attractive early Suhr and exactly the sort of spec that makes these older chambered Standards so desirable. The first thing that grabs you is obviously the quilt top, and this one looks exceptional — the sort of top that really pushes the guitar into that boutique, high-end bracket. The spec underneath is just as strong too. The chambered alder body should keep the guitar lively and resonant, while the maple neck and African rosewood board balance that with plenty of snap and warmth. I also really like the HSH layout here, because it gives the guitar a huge amount of range without losing that slick, refined Suhr feel. The DSV neck, noise-free middle and Aldrich bridge setup should cover everything from smoother lead tones to sharper, more aggressive bridge sounds, and the compound radius with locking tuners keeps it properly player-focused rather than just being about the looks. A very classy USA Suhr with a top that sounds every bit as good as it looks.
