This is a seriously striking Standard Custom and a great example of Suhr taking the traditional S-style formula somewhere much more luxurious. The Aged Cherry Burst works beautifully across the flame maple top, moving from rich amber and orange through to a deep red edge, while the natural scraped binding keeps the outline crisp. The tortoiseshell guard and gold hardware add even more character without overpowering the figuring.

The roasted maple neck and fingerboard are a particularly strong match visually, but the playing specification is equally impressive. Suhr’s Even C Slim carve, 10"–14" compound radius and heavy stainless-steel frets make this a fast and precise instrument while still retaining enough substance to feel comfortable rather than overly clinical.

The HSS electronics give it a very useful tonal spread. V60 single-coils in the neck and middle provide clear, vintage-inspired Strat tones, while the SSH Plus bridge humbucker adds considerably more output and authority for driven rhythm and lead work. The push/push split gives the bridge another useful voice, while Suhr’s SSCII system helps keep the single-coil positions quiet without losing their natural character.
