This is a really unusual and highly collectible Taylor, and one with a genuinely cool story behind it. The Cujo run has always stood out because the walnut used for these guitars came from the 400-year-old Black Walnut tree featured in Stephen King’s Cujo, which immediately gives the model far more character than a typical limited edition acoustic. With only 125 made, these are not something you see very often, and that rarity is a big part of the appeal.
The Grand Auditorium shape is a great fit for the concept too. It should give this guitar a more balanced and versatile feel than the dreadnought version, with plenty of projection but a slightly more controlled, refined response. Sitka spruce over walnut is also a really nice combination, offering clarity, warmth and a strong all-round voice that works across a lot of styles. A very cool late-'90s Taylor with real collector appeal and a story that genuinely adds something to the guitar.
